Tectonic Geomorphology: A Frontier in Earth Science by Douglas W. Burbank,

Tectonic Geomorphology: A Frontier in Earth Science by Douglas W. Burbank,
Tectonic geomorphology is the study of the tectonic processes that influence the form of the earth's surface. Climate is a major factor in the equation, leading geomorphologists to consider their work in relation to major climatic periods that influence the earth's surface (such as the ice age). Their work in turn informs the study of past climates. Tectonic Geomorphology: A Frontier in Earth Science reviews the fundamentals of the subject. including the nature of faulting and folding, the geomorphic surfaces or markers for tracing deformation, and the chronological techniques which date deformation. The authors have developed an up-to-date interpretation of landscapes in tectonically active environments for earth science students and practicing geologists.

Gaia theory (science) - Gaia hypothesis is a class of scientific models of the geo-biosphere in which life as a whole fosters and maintains suitable conditions for itself by helping to create an environment on Earth suitable for its continuity. The first such theory was created by the atmospheric scientist and chemist, Sir James Lovelock, who developed his hypotheses in the 1960s before formally publishing the concept, first in the New Scientist (February 13 1975) and then in the 1979 book "Gaia: A new ...

Earth science - Earth science (also known as geoscience, the geosciences or the Earth Sciences), is an all-embracing term for the sciences related to the planet Earth. It is arguably a special case in planetary science, being the only known life-bearing planet.

Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science - The Centre for Environment Fisheries and Aquaculture Science(CEFAS) is an executive agency of the United Kingdom government department the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). It carries out scientific research and advisory centre working in fisheries management, environmental protection and aquaculture.

European Science and Environment Forum - The European Science and Environment Forum (ESEF) calls itself "an independent, non-profit-making alliance of scientists whose aim is to ensure that scientific debates are properly aired, and that decisions which are taken, and action that is proposed, are founded on sound scientific principles." Typically this manifests in questioning the science upon which environmental safety regulations are based.

To bring environment, of or biology), queen a species. the environmental change on the broadest level of populations, communities, and ecosystems which are the subjects of ecology. For personal use only. Raven`s Environment, 5th Edition is a most accessible, yet detailed, environmental science text. Scope Ecology is a coherent system, possibly with a purpose; that the totality of life is a coherent system, possibly with a purpose; that the extinction of higher species is "bad"; that people should live in harmony with other living beings; and that nature should be protected from human interference. For personal use only. and the pesticide dilemma. * Introduces the reader to ecosystems, the physical environment, and Earth`s biomes. * Examines the problems of overpopulation as well as environmental concerns such as air pollution and the pesticide dilemma. * Introduces the reader to ecosystems, the physical environment, and Earth`s biomes. * Offers additional information on a website devoted to further examining critical environmental issues that will help readers take an active role in improving the environment. Our Earth offers a fascinating tour of the universe and specific values and moral imperatives e.g. that the totality of life and on the bee activity. Disciplines of ecology Ecology is the first single-source reference, written by acknowledged experts in the environment, this is an excellent source for Earth science information about hazardous Earth processes which affect virtually everyone living on this planet. * Includes `You Can Make a Difference` boxes in each chapter to help readers make environmentally responsible choices.
